Savanna Gamuchirai Chibanda is 20 years old. She's a university student in Zimbabwe, and she also runs her own beadwork business.
It started two years ago, when her sister introduced her to beading. Savanna was 18 at the time, and she was hooked almost straight away. What began as a hobby has since grown into a part-time business she runs alongside her studies.
A family that believed in her
Savanna's family has been behind her from the very beginning. They believed in her talent before anyone else did. They were her first customers, and they gave her the money she needed to get the business off the ground.
That kind of support has stayed with her. Their love and encouragement are a big part of what keeps her going and growing.
Guided by faith
Savanna comes from a Christian background, and her faith runs through her whole story. She believes the Lord has been taking her by the hand throughout her journey, guiding her and opening doors for her.
Her faith gives her strength and purpose, and the courage to keep chasing her dreams.
Learning to stand on her own
One of the things Savanna is most grateful for is the independence her business has given her. With the money she earns from her beadwork, she can now pay for some of her own needs without always having to ask her parents.
It has taught her more than how to make money. Running a business at her age has taught her responsibility, confidence and the value of hard work.
Every bead tells a story

Savanna makes handcrafted beaded accessories, and each one is made carefully, by hand. She wants her pieces to be beautiful and unique, and to help people show who they are.
"I believe every bead tells a story," she says. Every piece she makes is made with passion, creativity and love.
She also wants her work to be within reach. Her goal is to make quality, one-of-a-kind beadwork that stays affordable, while building a brand that celebrates individuality and inspires creativity in others.
Looking ahead
Savanna's business may be small for now, but her plans are big. She wants to grow it into a recognised Zimbabwean brand, one known for creativity, quality craftsmanship and handmade designs with real meaning.
For a 20-year-old balancing university and a growing business, she's already well on her way.
